The Samson Itodo Debate Competition is an annual intellectual and public speaking contest established to promote critical thinking, civic engagement, and eloquent expression among students of Immaculate Conception Secondary School, the alma mater of Samson Itodo. The competition aims to:

Develop students’ skills in research, logic, and persuasive communication

Foster a deeper understanding of governance, human rights, and social justice issues

Encourage a culture of informed debate and respectful dialogue

Identify and nurture future leaders, policy thinkers, and public advocates

Participants compete on contemporary social and political topics, judged by a panel of educators and professionals. Winners receive certificates, trophies, cash prizes, and may gain access to mentorship opportunities.
